DAY 1: CASABLANCA / RABAT (56 Miles)(D)

Casablanca is home to the largest Jewish community in Morocco and has numerous congregations, active communal institutions, and many highly recommended kosher restaurants. Arrival at Casablanca Mohamed V airport. Greetings and assistance. Then kick off the sightseeing tour with the Habbous quarter, the United Nations square and the Hassan II mosque, the second biggest mosque in the world; then visit of the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) with its temples and synagogues such as Beth-El, Em Habanim and Neve Shalom. Departure to Rabat and Sale. We’ll start off with a visit to Chellah and Kasbah of Oudayas next to the old Medina. Then Visit the Mellah, where many Jewish families still call it home with its narrow streets and lively courtyards. Afterwards, visit Sale, where Rabbi Hayyim Ben Moses Attar , the famous 18th century scholar and cabbalist was born. In the evening, head back to Rabat for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: RABAT / MEKNES / VOLUBILIS / FES (123 Miles)(B,D)

After breakfast, departure to Meknes, a Moroccan imperial city known as « the Moroccan Versailles » .Meknes was founded by Moulay Ismail at the end of the 17th Century. The visit will include Bab El Mansour, the Hedim square and the mosque of Moulay Ismail. In Meknes the Jewish heritage is visible through Hebraic epitaphs dating from the Christian era in addition to Greek inscriptions still appear ing in local Synagogues. Meknes’ old Mellah (the jewish quarter) is known for its its historic Jewish street names and the new Mellah is home to eleven Synagogues, eight of which are still in use. Also not to be missed for a pilgrimage, the tomb of Rabbi’ David Benmidan. Head back to Fes via remains of the ancient roman city of Volubilis. At arrival at Fes, check in , dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: FES

Fes is rich in medieval Jewish history, in fact, it was the home of one of the all times most influential Talmudic scholars , Rabbi Isaac Alfasi, as well as of Maimonides in the years 1160 to 1165. The visit will include the Mellah with its Synagogues, and also a visit to the cemetery of Safroud where Rabbi Lahou Harroch and Rabbi Raphael Moshe Elbaz are buried. Return to the hotel in Fes for overnight stay.

DAY 4: FES / MIDELT / ERFOUD / MERZOUGA (336 Miles)

After breakfast, depart to Erfoud via Azrou and Ifrane . It is said that Ifrane was the capital of a Jewish Kingdom in the distant past. Visit the village’s only Synagogue and the cemetery, which for centuries have been of pilgrimage Moroccan Jews. On to Midelt and then to Erfoud. Take a 4X4 ride to Merzouga for a sunset over the dunes , a berber dinner and overnight in bivouac , or return back to Erfoud for dinner and overnight at your comfy hotel room.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA / ERFOUD / OUARZAZATE (181 Miles)

Witness a magnificent sunrise over the Mezouga dunes, then return to Erfoud for guided tour and visit the impressive Todra Gorges. We’ll head over to Tineghir to visit its ancient and colorful Jewish quarter. Then we’ll Depart to Ouarzazate via El Kelaa des M’Gouna and visit of Tiliit known as the Ancient City of the Jews of the Dades. Afterwards, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, check-in and overnight stay.

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE(B,D)

After breakfast, visit the Kasbahs of Taourirt and Tifoultout , ancient residences of Glaoui (The former Pacha of Marrakesh). Relax the rest of the day is by the pool ,continue your visit of the city or take an excursion ride to visit the Rabbi David Ou Mouchi tomb at Telouat by 4X4. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 7: OUARZAZATE / MARRAKECH (126 Miles)(B,D)

After breakfast, get ready to head to Marrakesh via the Tiz-in-Tichka pass (2260m) and Taddert. The tour of Marrakech will include the Saadian tombs, a dynastry that made Marrakesh their capital, and converted the El Badii Palace to a Mellah, which became a community of native and Spanish Jews, and home to rabbinical schools and scholars. Visit the Rabbi Hanania Hacohen cemetery, the burial place of Rabbi Mordekhai Ben Attar and Rabbi Pinhas Hacohen Azough. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH(B,D)

Today , you’ll explore the second oldest imperial city known as the « Pearl of the South » or “the Red City”.Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Garden. In the afternoon, go on an excursion to the Ourika valley, the site of the famous tomb of Rabbi Salomon Bel Hen , relax by the hotel pool . In the evening head over to the world’s famous Djemaa El Fna place and enjoy this lively square (story tellers, acrobats, snake-charmers, magicians, etc.).

After breakfast, enjoy the day shopping at the souk or at your leisure with your driver available to you.
